Originated from the craft villages in Vietnem, these bags are the product of a government movement to reduce plastic waste from beaches and cities aroud the country, Waste pickers, locally known as ve chai, who go from door to door to buy used bottles and cans from houses, plastic cups from cafés and restaurants and anything recyclable they can find on the street.
This movement is the life support for so many families in Vietnam that the have created the specialized villages with double purpose.
